Summary
Complex Data Insights (CDI) includes both open learning resources and paid or downloadable product materials.
CDI open guides and public learning resources are designed for accessible learning, reuse, and adaptation with attribution. CDI Practicals and other product materials are provided under separate product-use terms unless a specific product states otherwise.
Open CDI guides and public resources
Unless otherwise noted, CDI open guides and public learning resources are dual-licensed under:
MIT License
Applies to code, scripts, command examples, and reusable technical templates included in open CDI guides.
CC BY 4.0 License
Applies to written explanations, diagrams, visual teaching content, and educational guide text included in open CDI guides.
These licenses allow reuse, adaptation, and redistribution of open materials with proper attribution.
What open licensing covers
- Public CDI guide text, walkthroughs, explanations, and examples
- Public Python, R, SQL, Bash, or Quarto code examples
- Public diagrams, charts, and educational visuals unless otherwise credited
- Public notebook templates, starter scripts, and reproducible learning examples
CDI Practicals and product materials
CDI Practicals are productized hands-on exercises and step-by-step tools. They may be free, paid, downloadable, or buyer-access materials depending on the product.
Unless a specific product page or product file says otherwise, CDI Practicals and other CDI product materials are provided for personal learning, individual professional development, or internal use by the purchaser.
Product materials may include
- CDI Practical guides
- Downloadable product files
- Buyer-access HTML pages or PDFs
- Product templates, worksheets, examples, and checklists
- Product cover images and branded product graphics
Unless permission is granted, product materials may not be
- Republished as public guides or public downloads
- Resold, copied into another paid product, or distributed as a competing product
- Uploaded to public repositories, file-sharing sites, course platforms, or learning portals
- Used as institutional training material without permission or an appropriate arrangement
- Edited to remove CDI branding or attribution and redistributed as original material
What is not automatically open licensed
The following materials are not automatically covered by the open guide licenses unless explicitly stated:
- CDI Practicals and other productized learning materials
- WooCommerce product descriptions, product covers, product files, and buyer-only materials
- CDI brand assets, logos, cover designs, product graphics, and visual identity materials
- Private mentorship materials, feedback, reviews, or learner-specific documents
- Institutional, client, collaboration, consulting, or custom training materials
